November 2020 Meetings

Updated: Nov 27, 2020

First off, it's important to note that as of Nov. 6th the Mayor of Sierra Vista reinstated an emergency declaration requiring that people over the age of 10 wear face coverings or shields while in public when physical distancing of at least 6 feet is not possible. You can read more about that here.

Below are the City Council Work Sessions and Meetings for November 2020. Throughout the month I will update this blog post with more information as it becomes available for each meeting.

Congratulation to Mayor Pro Tem Rachel Gray, Dr. Angelica Landry, and Gregory L. Johnson on being elected to Sierra Vista City Council.

This was an extremely difficult year for all candidates. COVID-19 made signature collection extremely difficult which is one of the main reason we had so many candidates for City Council running as write-ins and only two candidates listed on the ballot for the 3 open seats. Incredibly, the people of Sierra Vista voted in record numbers and elected one of the 4 write-in candidates to the 3rd open seat. I'm very proud of our City's record voter turnout this year. Over 73% of voters turned out to vote! This is very exciting, and I look forward to working with our newly elected council members and continue working with MPT Gray to see that Sierra Vista continues to strive towards being the best city there is!

As always, if you have any questions or comments please do not hestitate to reach out to me at carolyn.umphrey@sierravistaaz.gov.
