This week I joined more than 2,000 mayors, council members and other delegates from cities and towns across the country who convened in Washington for the National League of Cities’ (NLC) annual Congressional City Conference (CCC). Over the past two days I've been attending the conference and making connections with other local leaders from Arizona.
Tomorrow, I will be heading to Capitol Hill to meet with our Representative Ann Kirkpatrick, Senator McSally and Senator Sinema to discuss key priorities we have here in Sierra Vista. The federal government collects tax dollars from Sierra Vista residents and the City is committed to working with its federal representatives to assure that the community receives the benefits of these contributions in the form of investments in infrastructure, including wastewater and transportation, as well as defense.
I know this is a update is short, but I do plan on providing a more detailed blog post on the conference, meetings, and information I gained during this trip when I return home to Sierra Vista at the end of the week.
Your council member,
